I Put On My Party Hat This Weekend

Hi stampers!  I took a little break last week!  Whoops!  I meant to blog but it just didn't happen.  I went to visit my family in Illinois and attend a wedding and I was just so busy that it didn't happen!  But it was a great visit and we hadn't been back since Thanksgiving with Jon's melanoma and surgery so it was really extra fun!  The wedding was a ton of fun and it was great to see my "family" who really isn't my family but is family :-)  Don't you love that?  I am however, SO TIRED.  I'm too old to dance the night away then have to drive back to the farm the next day and back to Oklahoma the next!

Anyway, here's a simple card that I don't need to say too much about!  I wanted to combine this die with the party hat set when I saw it and I LOVE this embossing folder!

My stamparatus should be here soon and that will make this set WAY easier to use!  I can't wait!  I'll try to let you know when it's here and maybe I'll do some live videos!  I got a nifty new tripod and ring light waiting for me for my birthday, which also happened to be last week.  I even got to spend it with my dad and step mom who I can't even tell you when the last time that happened was!  It was celebrations all around!  Birthdays, weddings...even a late Christmas ;-)

Happy stamping!

Fab Friday 131

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  It's time for another challenge over at Fab Friday!  We have a sketch for you this time.  It's pretty simple but pretty cute and I hope it's a jumping off point for your creativity!

I kept pretty true to the sketch.  I'm kind of mad at myself because I only glanced at it and then didn't take my computer with me too stamp so I forgot that the banner didn't go to the top on the sketch.  But, it was all I had time for so maybe I'll try a re-do when I get a chance :-)

I finally broke out this stamp set!  It's super cute!  The little sprinkling of flowers didn't work out quite like I'd planned either but...time crunch ;-)  Sometimes I need to learn to go with things even when I don't love them.

I can't wait to see what you make!  First, head off and check out the rest of the design team's creations and then play along!

Celebrate Cake

Hi stampers!  Happy hump day.  For whatever reason, I kept thinking yesterday was Wednesday.  Even though I knew Ian had school and he doesn't go on Wednesday.  What the heck?

And I hope everyone has a happy Valentine's Day!    I do not have a Valentine to share because I'm fresh out.  I do have one of my favorite cards I think I've ever made though!  Don't you love it when  a plan comes together????

You may be seeing a lot of watercolored cakes soon because I can't stop!  It's SO fun to make these!  For this one, I watercolored in Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party, and Bermuda Bay.  I also added some "icing" with the Myths & Magic Washi Tape and it was AMAZING!

And can we talk about this embossing folder?  I'm in LOVE with it!  The picture in the catalog is terrible, lol!  I'm sorry for saying that but it's true.  I was so not interested until I saw someone use it and post.  It's totally fun little sequins and it's one of the extra thick folders so the impression is really great.

And that glimmer paper I have a love hate relationship with.  I LOVE how pretty and sparkly it is but MAN does it shed.  That stuff gets everywhere.  And I HATE the glitter disease so the fact that I'm using it  (and using it a lot) should tell you just how gorgeous it is.  But seriously, if you HATE the glitter bombs, this stuff may not be for you.  Just fair warning.  But it's GORGEOUS!

And did you notice?  There is NO stamping at all on this card.  Just two die cuts!  Not that I don't love stamping but sometimes it's fun to show people what you can do with out it.  It would also be cute to add a small stamped sentiment along with the die cut as well.  Maybe I'll do a second version!

Ian's Valentine's

Hi stampers!  It's that time I suppose, to show you Ian's Valentine's (that at this point still aren't all made lol).  I'm sort of cheating because they are TOTALLY based off of the ones I made him last year which you can find here.  I have to say, I liked those better because I liked that little bunny better but I worked with what I had.

He loves Annie's Bunny Gummies so I picked another box of the Valentine ones up at Target.  They are smaller than the ones last year and I'm lazy so I still used my template from last year, lol!

I did use some retired DSP because it's all I had in real red that worked.  I stamped the rabbit from dark to light and used Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, and Sahara Sand.  My greeting is pieced together from one of the sentiments in the set, the Alphabet Labler Stamp, and I used the Saleabration dies for the you!  Don't forget you can get those FREE with an order of $100 before the end of March.  I made my bow from the Shimmer Ribbon Pack that you can get free with a $50 order.  It's super cute as well!

Here is the inside.  It's small but it still works.   I'm just going to write Ian's name on the package.  We aren't supposed to personally address each one so less work for me ;-)  Sorry about the shadow in this photo.  Whoops!

So to make these, I just took a 3" x 10" strip of Real Red and scored it at 4.24", 4.5", and 9".

This year, we have a nifty little die that can make the closure!   The Lots To Love Box Framelits Dies has those little wonky dies.  They actually make a little place on the box to insert your finger and open it but they work just great for a matchbook cover too!

Simply place the die about a quarter of an inch up from the score line on what will be the bottom flap of the matchbook.

And that was it.  Pretty easy!  Now....will I get them all made?  I probably will on Wednesday since I have until Thursday hahaha!  And I'm totally excited for Valentine's with Ian.  We were talking about it the other day and I said it was about love and asked him who he loved.  His reply was, "everyone....and God".  He's so cute...most of the time ;-)  And he wants some balloons and is SO excited about them ;-)

Mailable Monday - Valentine's Edition

Hi stampers!  It's been a while since I did a mailable Monday post...or scheduled a post to publish on time for that matter, ha!  Trying to get my act together over here!

Valentine's is almost upon us and of course I haven't made Ian's treats yet but his party isn't until Thursday so I get an extra day.  They are designed at least and I'll try to share them tomorrow!

For this card, it could really be an anytime card but would make a good Valentine, too!

My background is with the yellow Brusho.  I wet my paper, sprinkled it on, and then blended it with my aqua painter.  The yellow does have some red crystals in it and you can kind of see some of those but they look way less noticeable if you blend.  I also stamped some hearts from one of the Occasions hostess sets, Yay You,  after it was dry.

My image is colored with the Blends markers and totally adorable!

Bright Valentine

Hi stampers!  How can January go so slow and then this month go so fast?  Seriously, January lasted for-ev-er and this month is flying by!  I can't belelive V-day is next week, I need to get cracking on more Valentine's, including 13 or so for Ian's class!  Yikes!

And I've been meaning to stamp and blog but it's just not been happening.  I'm not quite sure WHAT I've been doing...that ever happen to you?  LOL!  I DID get a hydrafacial yesterday which was kind of amazing!  It was my early birthday present to myself, lol!  My skin has not been looking good the past month or so.  It looks great and feels amazing now.  I'd love to get them regularly but I'd probably rather buy more stamps instead ;-)  I did get some ridiculously expensive Vitamin C serum (wasn't aware that it was quite that pricey but I really liked it and she said it will help me so....) too.  Now I need a new moisturizer.  They changed the one I've used for 20+ years.  Don't you HATE that????  Anyway, onto the stamping!

I did make this at the tail end of Ian's nap the other day.  I just can't get enough of the color combo of melon mambo, lemon lime twist, and tranquil tide!  I used sponge daubers to ink up the stamp.  I stamped the background hearts by stamping off once.   You may have to enlarge the picture to see them, they are really faint, which I like!  They didn't photograph well.  The pink heart was stamped and then I used a blender pen to pull the ink into the little circles and fill them in.  It looked too stark "naked" ;-)  And the final touch was a few of the new gold chunky glitter flakes.  A drop with the fine tip glue pen works well to adhere them.

Put Your Party Hat On

Hi stampers!  If you follow me on Instagram (@badabingpapercrafting) you'll have seen a sneak peek of this card!  I haven't posted or stamped or done much for the past two days thanks to a lovely sinus migraine!  I had it Monday night before bed and was hoping it would be GONE in the morning.  It wasn't.  Anyway, I feel much better today so I thought I'd share this card with you!

The Party Hat Birthday bundle is super cute!  There was a set like this in the Holiday Catalog with a Christmas tree and one, I didn't really "get" it and two, it didn't really interest me.  Funny how that works because this was one of my MUST haves in the Occasions Catalog!

I didn't really understand the Christmas one but basically, the coordinating dies cut out parts of the image for some really cool options!   I kept it pretty simple for this one.

I stamped the lime images first and then cut them out.  Next, I lined up the pink images and finally the tide ones.  I found that the best way to do it.  I had a little trouble when practicing and am far too lazy to use my stamp-a-majig.  I can't wait until my Stamparatus gets here later this month! It will be VERY helpful for this stamp!  I put the smaller cut-outs back in with a drop of glue and the bigger ones I used our mini dimensionals.  Love those things!

I love the color combo of mambo, lemon lime, and tide as well.  I actually put them together thanks to some scraps laying around.  That's often a way I find combos...which makes me feel slightly better about not being a tidy stamper ;-)

But I can't wait to play some more with this one and do some different things, it's so fun!

Celebrating You

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday!  Here we go again with another Monday, ha!  Can't those just go away???

Here's a card I made last week.  The main image was made with Brusho!  I mixed red and blue to make a pretty purple color.  And I actually didn't even put it on the paper!  I shook it out on a clear block that I had put water on and then smooshed my paper onto that!  There are endless options with that stuff!  I also used Perennial Birthday. Don't get stuck in only using a stamp set with it's coordinating kit or with it's coordinating colors!  Get creative!

I probably should have used razzleberry here but I used berry burst.  A little contrast ;-)  My flowers are stamped in their respective color and I used a blender pen to fill them in and blend the colors.

Hope you're having a good Monday (and I am too, lol).
